While perusing the interwebs I kept seeing articles for healthy Cinco de Mayo meals. I couldn’t help but think of how ridiculous this was. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a healthy lifestyle, exercising and eating healthy and what not, but if you can’t even take one day to cut loose, especially a holiday, you need to relax a little bit.
I see this sometimes when I hang out with people from the gym. We may be at a BBQ, and maybe someone will bring some cookies or a cake. There will be some people that won’t even think about touching them. Dude! It’s cookies and cake! You’re really going to pass up on those? Hey, more for me!
Look, one day of eating bad isn’t going to derail you and make you lose everything you have been working so hard for, just the same as one day in the gym isn’t going to give you a six-pack. Trust me, I know. You’re allowed to give yourself a break every once in a while. I probably give myself a few too many, but hey, I like to eat. Remember, being fit is important, but it isn’t everything. Lighten up! Enjoy life. If someone offers you a piece of cake, don’t be rude, take it, eat it, enjoy it. It won’t kill you.
