Making a Change!

So I have decided to convert Kettlebeard in to more of an overall health and wellness site, not just a CrossFit specific site. Now don’t get me wrong here, I love CrossFit, and I am extremely biased towards it, but I also need to remember that there is way more to getting healthy than CrossFit alone. Believe it or not, CrossFit isn’t for everyone. For some people its just not their thing, and that’s cool!

I am an advocate of moving. We are made to move, and the world has turned into a place that keeps us constrained. Many people work desk jobs, and have to sit in front of a computer 8 hours, or more a day. This is wreaking havoc on our bodies, and our overall fitness. I am extremely blessed that I own a gym and get to stand on my feet all day walking around coaching people to help them get more fit. Unfortunately that isn’t a luxury that everyone has. Since my site has a decent amount of viewers, I thought it might be helpful to add different things that you can do in order to help you live a more healthy life. This might include workouts, recipes of healthy foods, stress management techniques, basically anything that will help you get more active, and live a better quality lifestyle! Of course I am always up for ideas, so If you have any you can always shoot me an emailhere!

It's not my thing, but hey If you like to run, run!

So I am not quitting CrossFit! I am simply looking for more ways to promote people to get off of their asses and get moving. So many people around us are getting sick because they aren’t taking care of themselves. It seems like I am always hearing about somebody getting cancer, or hear these terrible stories of people dying at a young age from some disease that seems like it could have been prevented if they had taken some preventative measures to get healthy. Trust me, I’m no saint. I haven’t always been the perfect picture of health. I still am not. Until recently I ate pretty much whatever I wanted and figured I worked out enough to “burn” it all off. Unfortunately we have been brainwashed into thinking that calories are calories and as long as we burn more than we eat than we will be fine. It’s simply not true. I’m sure you are familiar with someone who looked like they were in amazing shape develop some sort of disease that cut their life short. We need to start taking better care of ourselves. Hopefully this is somewhere you can come to find some motivation to do that. I’m always here to help if you get stuck!
